Job Requirement
1. JOB PURPOSE a. To work as a Team member in Application Support Team. b. To coordinate with the Team Members and other departments for smooth functioning of the Applications in the Production Environment. c. To Coordinate with Vendors and third party service providers for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the production environment. d. Arrange for regular meetings with all concerned departments / vendors to understand the requirements and accordingly the systems are up and running. 2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES a. To provide expertise as a Team Member for the Application Support Team. b. To update the superiors as per the reporting structure on the status of the overall issues and resolutions c. To coordinate and provide on-call support assignment and problem resolution for applications maintained by Application Support Team. d. To maintain updated knowledge with respect to relevant technology, equipment, and/or systems. e. To track all pending issues and ensure the resolution of the same as per the agreed priority and timelines. f. To perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor. g. To provide on-call support and problem resolution for computer applications, including post office hours and holidays. h. To maintain updated knowledge with respect to relevant technology, equipment, and/or systems. 3. CONTEXT a. The Application Support Analyst's main task is to clearly understand the requirements of the job and consistently deliver solutions to the satisfaction of the supervisor, along with the foresight to raise issues before they become problems. b. The Application Support Analyst needs to be exceptionally reliable and self-disciplined, flexible in working practice and technical approach, extremely conscientious and have a strong attention to detail. c. The Application Support Analyst does not have any authority to sign or approve any financial commitments on behalf of the section. Any such commitments should be approved / countersigned by competent authority 4. KEY RELATIONSHIP (INTERNAL & EXTERNAL) a. The Application Support Analyst primarily interacts with his supervisor for all day-to-day tasks and instructions. Any communication to business users or vendors should be routed through the supervisor. The Application Support Analyst needs to interact extensively with unit staff for resolution of issues with the minimal downtime. b. However, in specific cases, the supervisor may assign the Application Support Analyst as the point of contact for business users and/or vendors, in which case it is the responsibility of the Application Support Analyst to keep his supervisor informed and take prior approval from the supervisor before making any commitment on behalf of the Section. 5. EDUCATION a. Graduate or Post Graduate in Computer Science. 6. TRAINING / SKILLS a. ASP .NET training b. J2EE training c. Oracle / MSSQL Database Training d. Oracle Application Server certification. 7. WORK EXPERIENCE a. 2-4 years experience in Supporting Production Applications. b. Experience in Supporting Production Applications in Banking Environments. 8. COMPETENCIES a. Enterprising and self motivated. b. Excellent communication skills c. Ability to work independently as well as cohesively with a team, towards executing support activities. d. Ability to quickly translate new technologies into efficient workable solutions thus saving cost. e. Sound technical knowledge. f. Problem solving ability.
